LIFE OF A CHILD IN NECO HOME
Namaste and Greetings. My name is Suman and I'm 12 years old. I study in class five. I secured first position in my grade. My aim is to become a doctor. I was born in rural village of Gurkha district. I lost my father when I was around 3 years old. My mother is mentally ill and so she is unable to look after me. That’s why I was brought to NECO Home.
I am very happy to be a part of NECO family. All the people here are caring and kind. I feel as if I am the luckiest kid in the world because I got the resources, facilities, love and the affection that I could only dream of.
Mr. Bhatta and Mr. Yazdani presented a presentation, prepared by Ms. Samjhana Gurung, which was later edited by Mr. Yazdani. The presentation was about the improvements, of orphans, made in NECO and about future plans for making their lives better. The event concluded with a dinner of Persian food which was enjoyed by the guests.
ACADEMIC UPDATE
In the first week of the month, the children were busy preparing for their first terminal examination held by the school. Their result was satisfactory.
SUMMER VACATION
The children had a summer break for a week after their first terminal examination was over.
Swimming
We think children should get time for enjoyment and refreshment. So we managed to take the children to Kathmandu Fun Valley for swimming and entertainment. It's about 20 km east to Kathmandu Valley.
Playing in the water - whether swimming, boating or diving - can be fun especially to children. Kids having fun in the swimming pool.
